Gone

Nothing needed fixing and it wasn’t broke
So he stepped outside – gonna have a smoke
Taking a break – that was all he said
So I rolled my eyes, and went back to bed
That’s what he said – going out that door
Gonna have a smoke, maybe one more
So then he left, and crossed that line
And I ain’t seen him – for a long, long time
Well, nothing needed fixing, thought we were fine
So why’d he leave and cross that line
Thought we were good, but I was wrong
Cause he took a break, now he’s gone, gone, gone

So now I sit, wishing he was here
Getting pretty tired, crying all these tears
I lost my man, I’ll never know
Why he left that day, had to go, go, go

‘Cause nothing needed fixing, thought we were fine

So why’d he leave and cross that line
Thought we were good, but I was wrong …..

‘Cause he took a break
and now he’s ….. gone, gone, gone ………
